Talkie Talk

Next Tuesday I’ll be kickin’ around the Canadian Special Events & Meetings Expo (Rocky Mountaineer Station, Vancouver) and at 9:30am I’ll be giving a one-hour talkie-talk called Inspired Event Management Through Creative Thinking & Collaboration. Here’s a bit of a synopsis:
Organizing an event requires careful planning and hard work, but in today’s competitive market that’s not enough. The most valuable contribution an event manager can make is through their personal creativity and their ability to turn stakeholders into creative collaborators. Event creative is what sells and it takes inspired leadership to pull it off. Innovative ideas and effective management strategies work hand-in-hand to produce events that exceed expectations. This 60 minute session will help you take your event work to the next level by providing unique ways to develop your creative process, give you tools to turn great ideas into actionable project tasks, and provide fresh insights on how to tap into the creativity of those around you.
It’s rare for me to be involved in an event industry gathering – most because I don’t have a lot of buying needs and there’s typically a lot of selling going on; however, the organizers are passionate, like-minded people and I was happy to answer the call to speak to event professionals about ideation. I’m really looking forward to it! If you’re going to be there leave a comment below and be sure to say “hi” on Tuesday.
